Sandi Hemmerlein

Sandi Hemmerlein has been a professional writer since she cracked a front page news story in her local paper as a teen reporter in Syracuse, NY, garnering national attention. Since then, her news pieces, arts coverage, and commentary have been published on a variety of blogs and regional publications including The Sun Runner and 11211 Magazine. A graduate of Colgate University, Sandi is an avid six word memoirist (and multiple SMITH Magazine contest-winner) and maintains a personal blog, www.avoidingregret.com, which chronicles her attempts at overcoming a sheltered childhood. She is currently workshopping a travel memoir with NYC’s Naked Angels theater company.

 

In her 13 years working on the marketing side of the music industry, Sandi has been surrounded by wide range of creative characters – from Placido Domingo to Kid Rock to Flavor Flav – and most recently appeared alongside Eminem in a music video. As an actress/host/performer, Sandi’s other credits include QVC, MTV, Z Rock, NYPD Blue, and as a grand prize winner of VH1’s game show Name That Video. Sandi currently resides in New York City but spends most of her time dreaming of the desert.
