WHAT IT IS:
An installation of emerging and emerged playwrights writing new plays in the store front of the Drama Book Shop. In each two hour time slot, a different playwright will work on their play while the screen shot is projected behind them visible to the street. The public can engage and support the playwright via the Write Out Front Facebook page, Twitter and Website and follow the development of the play and writer after the installation ends.
WHY:
To bring awareness to the time, space and support writers need to create.
To highlight emerging artists.
To build community.
To have fun.
THE NOT SMALL PRINT:
Due to technical requirements, preference is given to writers that use a laptop versus pad/paper/etc. Desk and chair will be provided. You will be visible to the street as you will be sitting in a store front. You and/or your screen shot may be visible online in real time on the Write Out Front Website. This will not cause dry-eye, nausea, incontinence or depression. Sudden episodes of inspiration, joy and productivity may occur without warning.
DATES: Monday thru Saturday, August 13th – September 1st. 2012
TIMES: There are 4 slots over the course of the three weeks.
A Slot: 11a – 12:45p
B Slot: 1p – 2:45p
C Slot: 3p – 4:45p
D slot: 5p – 6:45p

1st Deadline for submission: June 30th.
2nd Deadline for submission: July 15th.
Your participation will be confirmed no later than July 30th.
