Reading of KENNEDY V - this Monday! June 13th

Shameless plug alert! :) Hoping those of you in the NY area will check out the reading of my new play, Kennedy V on Monday June 13 at 7PM at the Clurman Theatre on Theatre Row. The enormous cast is listed below. This is my I'm-tired-of-writing-single-set-two-handers play. :) Here's a little blurb.

Dear Todd London: You made me cry with your brutal honesty. Now what do I do?

Todd London's keynote speech today at the Dramatists Guild of America's first national conference at George Mason University shook me to my core. He didn't tell me anything I didn't already know but he put it all together in words so clear, so vivid and so electric with their honesty that there was hardly a dry eye in the house. "Playwrights have been pushed aside. Writers have been neglected and abused." I am paraphrasing and by doing so, nowhere near doing justice. Wish this speech would be posted online so we could read and re-read.

Playwrights In The Poorhouse

A recent interview with playwright Tony Kushner in Time Out New York looked back on the soon to conclude season at New York’s Signature Theatre Company which has been dedicated to Kushner’s work.  That interview ended up driving a lot of traffic in the blogosphere.  Comments were posted on the theatre blogs of Scott Walters, Tim Bauer, Paul Mullin and the New Play Blog at Arena Stage.

Daria Price is a filmmaker with a diverse background who works in both documentary and fiction films. She was a field producer and videographer on Canada's Vision TV documentary series, Twist of Faith, and on HDnet's World Report documentary, The Silent Epidemic: Diabetes in Kids, and she has produced, directed, and shot science and tech stories with Elsash-TV for APTN, BBC, and HDnet. Daria’s current project is a documentary called Out on a Limb.
