This just in, kids! JD DiSalvatore has just signed on to MC the first ever Brevity Fest, to be held at El Cid in Silverlake this Thursday evening at 7:30pm. More info on Brevity Fest can be found at the top of this blog.
JD Disalvatore is a gay rights activist and lesbian filmmaker. She produced the film Shelter which recently won the GLAAD Award for Outstanding Feature Film in Limited release as well as being named to AfterElton.com’s list of the 50 Greatest Gay Films of All Time at the #2 spot. She has also produced the LGBT films A Marine Story starring Dreya Weber (The Gymnast), Eating Out 2, Gay Propaganda, Elena Undone for director Nicole Conn, HBO’s Reunion and Neurotica.
In March, she was named one of the GO NYC Magazine’s 100 Lesbians We Love for 2009.

Over the years, she has been a contributing writer on the subject of lgbt politics and lgbt film for Curve, GayWired, Clout, OurChart.com, TheDinah.com and is a frequent guest cohost on The Frank DeCaro Show on Sirius radio.
