So this ain't really much of a post but I just wanted to get my feet wet, so bear with me. OK. So, I direct an opera company somewhere in this land we call the great U.S.A. I'm posting under a pseudonym to protect the innocent (and not-so) and hope you all won't mind.
When Rolando invited me to join this forum, which I've been reading for almost a year now, I have to admit I balked. Mainly because I play in the high-stakes world of opera, where egos are large and I'd like to keep my job, which I love.
Still, as much as I love it, I do need a place to vent and Rolando seems to think that you all might find it interesting reading about the trials and tribs of an underpaid, overfed, sometimes whiney cranky old broad who likes to be in control... of everything!
Aren't you glad you asked? This's been a slow week for us at the company, so not much to report but budgets are due in a couple weeks so stay tuned! If you're lucky, you just might hear about how this A.D. deals with lawyers and accountants and her board of directors when all she really wants to be doing is making art. Ah well... c'est la guerre!
Glad to be here. Thanks, for the invite. Ta!
