The following from George C. Wolfe:
George C. Wolfe said something like "writers should be careful which directors they marry because the baby is going to look a lot like both of them."
I think that's really true. A director brings a certain style or aesthetic to a piece, and it's extremely important that the writer understands what 'genetics' a given director brings to the table.
