We Pedal Uphill was shot in several states in the U.S. between 2005 and 2008. The stories told, while fictional, are all inspired by actual events that unfolded in America in the immediate aftermath of 9/11.
After We Pedal Uphill played the Cinema Village in Manhattan, Cassidy Arkin put together an 18-month tour of museums, colleges, festivals and other non-theatrical venues. Many screenings were followed by spirited Q&As with Yours Truly. If there's one thing we all learned about the little film we'd made during the tour it was this: Regardless of who sits in the White House at any given time, the themes touched upon in this tapestry of post-911 America are universal; the intensity with which we all collaborated to write, shoot and edit the film is matched by the intensity audiences brought to these post-screening conversations.
